Course Insight

Our BA(Hons) Drama and Acting course is aimed at students with a passion for acting. You will have a love of performance and a willingness to work hard and be challenged. There is a strong focus on employability throughout. Staff and students will work closely together, sharing ideas and collaborating on productions. You will be given a firm foundation in drama, acting and creative writing in the first year, with a more specialist focus on acting in later years. As with live theatre, constructive and prompt feedback is central to the course.

Teaching and Learning

All acting modules will be taught through practical workshops. This is true of all workshop based performance modules, as well as Creative Writing. Theatre Studies is taught through a one hour lecture and two hour seminar process each week. You will engage in a unique curriculum and benefit from a variety of teaching methods. Most importantly we are fully committed to the personal development of our students.

Assessment

Acting is largely assessed through performance, Creative Writing through portfolios, and Theatre Studies through presentations and essays. There are no written examinations. Grades from modules undertaken during all years of study will contribute to the final degree classification.
