BioFabric Lab Guide – Creating Sustainable Bioplastics from Wood Fibers and Vegetables
Introduction
BioFabric investigates the development of biodegradable, plant-based bioplastics using starch, glycerin, and natural fibers. The project examines material behaviour, structural reinforcement, and sustainable fabrication methods within a design-research context The main objective is to investigate biodegradable, flexible, and eco-conscious material alternatives to conventional plastics through experimental design and collaborative lab practice. Its outcomes contribute to emerging discussions on renewable materials, circular systems, and environmentally responsible design practices.
