As Easter approaches, Metropolis Mall and Alexander College are joining forces to spread a little extra joy. Together, they’re launching a special charity initiative centered around a giant Easter egg installation—thoughtfully designed and decorated by first-year design students from Alexander College.
More than just a creative display, the egg is here for a cause. It’s open at the top, inviting visitors to drop in newly bought toys (or used toys in excellent condition) that will be passed on to children through Christina Apostolou Foundation.
Creativity meets kindness
On display at Metropolis Mall, the oversized Easter egg represents new beginnings and community spirit. It encourages people to take part in something meaningful—turning a simple toy into a small act of hope and happiness for someone else.
Designed with heart
The egg’s bold, beautiful design was brought to life by Alexander College students in the Design Communication class, with guidance from their instructors. For them, this was more than just a project—it was a chance to use their skills to do something meaningful. The result is more than just a drop-off point. It’s an interactive piece of art that invites reflection, connection, and action.
One toy can make a difference
Metropolis Mall and Alexander College believe that generosity—no matter the size—can lead to real change. When someone donates a toy, they’re not just giving something away. They’re creating a moment of joy that a child will remember.
This collaboration shows how education and business can come together to support the community in simple, impactful ways. The initiative will run throughout the Easter season from 11-23 April, giving everyone plenty of time to get involved.
So next time you’re at Metropolis Mall, bring a new toy. Drop it in the giant egg. And take part in something that spreads smiles far beyond the holiday season.
