Strategy

Strategic planning for Alexander College involves a cyclical process which takes account of our mission and vision, internal capabilities, the external environment to setting strategic goals and objectives, developing action plans and establishing mechanisms for regular monitoring, assessment, and adaptation.

Key elements include internal and external stakeholder engagement, and supporting a culture of continuous improvement.

Through Our Strategy, We Will:

  • Foster an Inclusive and Future-Oriented Community: Support and engage an inclusive and future-led staff and student community: continuous recruitment of qualified academic staff based on identified needs and new programmes introduced, gradual adaptation to leading HEIs recruitment standards
  • Integrate with the Local Economy and Advance Innovation: By strengthening partnerships with both public and private sectors, we will enhance our graduate talent pipeline and support innovation and enterprise. Our collaborations with centers of excellence—such as the Center for Social Innovation and the Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute (CMMI)—will be further developed, leveraging synergies from our newly accredited MBA programmes in Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Leadership Management, Public Procurement, and Digital Marketing. We aim to surpass 40 national partnerships, each contributing tangible value to the student experience.
  • Promote Equal Opportunities and Widen Participation: Lead to create avenues of equal opportunities for all, through our recruitment from underrepresented communities, significant support for students in financial need or special needs, and close collaboration with schools, teachers’ associations, education consultants, Industry and local municipalities : expand network of engagement with suburban communities and distant villages in Larnaca, Famagusta and Paphos-Polis Chrysochous via expansion of our services, social contribution and relations with High Schools and Municipalities and local communities

Deliver Innovative, Student-Centered Learning: We will provide an engaging, inclusive, and practice-led learning environment that recognizes the varied backgrounds and aspirations of our students. This includes opportunities for work experience, international exposure, and access to staff mentors and coaches. The College community will be actively involved in addressing contemporary and future challenges. We will further invest in innovative, technology-driven teaching and offer professional development and certification programmes to support faculty excellence.

  • Invest in Human and Physical Resources: We will continue to develop both campuses by creating new spaces for model making, expanding library resources, and increasing staff in leadership and specialized roles. These investments will open new avenues for collaboration and strengthen our engagement with the public and local communities.
  • Pursue High-Level International Collaborations: Alexander College will expand its international reach by increasing joint projects and research collaborations with knowledge organizations. Our goal is to double annual project applications from 5 to 10 and to grow our network of inter-institutional agreements from 40 to 50, while optimizing training in project management for staff.
