As part of the Creative Studio module, Level 2 Fashion Design students participated in an engaging weaving workshop led by guest lecturer Andrea Anaxagora, organized during Michalis Pantelidis’ class.
The workshop focused on creative sustainability, encouraging students to experiment with recycled and unconventional materials such as plastic bags, earphones, wires, wood leftovers, and fabric remnants to produce innovative woven surfaces.
Through this hands-on experience, students explored traditional weaving techniques reinterpreted through a contemporary, eco-conscious lens, developing a deeper understanding of how discarded materials can be transformed into new textile forms and artistic expressions.
This practical session aimed to cultivate both environmental awareness and creative experimentation, aligning with the broader vision of integrating sustainability into fashion education at Alexander College.
Below, you can find selected photos from the workshop showcasing the students’ creative process and results.
