Alexander College and the Alexander Research Centre proudly congratulate the Cyprus RobotHeadz team on receiving the Rising All-Star Award at the FIRST LEGO League Asia Pacific Open Championship, held in Sydney, Australia, from 9–12 July 2026.

Competing against 55 teams and more than 500 participants from around the world, RobotHeadz earned one of the championship’s most prestigious distinctions. The Rising All-Star Award recognises a team that demonstrates exceptional potential, continuous growth, exemplary collaboration, enthusiasm, and an unwavering commitment to the core values of FIRST: innovation, respect, teamwork, and discovery.

The award represents another remarkable achievement for the team, which earlier this year secured its third consecutive FIRST LEGO League Cyprus Grand Champion title (2024–2026), further establishing its reputation as one of Cyprus’s leading young STEM teams.

Alexander College has proudly supported RobotHeadz as a Gold Sponsor for the past two consecutive years, reflecting the College’s commitment to promoting excellence in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics and to supporting initiatives that inspire innovation among young people. In its official championship announcement, the team expressed its appreciation, stating:

“Special thanks to our Gold Sponsor, Alexander College and Alexander Research Center, for their generous support.”

This commitment is also reflected in Alexander College’s academic programmes, including the BSc in Computer Science with Gaming Development, which equips students with the technical knowledge and creative skills required to become the next generation of software developers, game designers, and technology innovators.

Alexander College commends Dr. Periklis Cheng, the dedicated mentor of RobotHeadz, together with the team’s talented students, for this outstanding international achievement. Their success highlights the growing strength of STEM education in Cyprus and demonstrates how collaboration between educational institutions, industry partners, and the wider community can empower young innovators to excel on the global stage.

The College extends its warmest congratulations to the entire RobotHeadz team and wishes them every success in their future endeavours.
