Crafted in wood, this contemporary chair explores the relationship between laser-cut precision, material expression, and modern furniture design.
This project investigates the intersection of furniture design, digital fabrication, and material experimentation through the development of a wooden chair prototype.
Interior Design Year 2 student – Andreas Lefkou developed this work at Youth Maker Space Larnaca, exploring how laser-cut technology can introduce rhythm, precision, and structural pattern into wooden furniture design. The process focused on translating a conceptual idea into a physical outcome, combining digital tools with hands-on making.
Through iterative experimentation, the design explores form, stability, and visual lightness, with the laser-cut detailing becoming both a structural and aesthetic feature of the wooden chair.
The final outcome reflects a contemporary approach to interior design practice, where technology and craftsmanship meet to create innovative and expressive furniture pieces.
