Alexander College is thrilled to announce that we will host the international Axolotl conference from October 15–18, 2024. This prestigious event will gather experts and researchers from around the world to explore the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Deep Learning (DL) in transforming marine conservation and maritime surveillance.

The AXOLOTL project addresses a critical need for enhanced marine conservation and maritime surveillance by leveraging deep learning methodologies. By integrating in-situ sampling with advanced remote sensing, this project aims to bridge existing technological gaps and offer innovative solutions that will significantly improve data analysis and decision-making in these vital areas.

The conference will showcase not only the scientific advancements of the AXOLOTL project but also the capacity-building, outreach, and networking efforts that aim to strengthen both Cyprus’ and Europe’s role in oceanic conservation and surveillance.
