Students from the Graphic Design department of Alexander College recently visited the Youth Maker Space in Larnaca. They were given a guided tour and had the opportunity to experience firsthand the state-of-the-art, high-tech equipment available in the space—especially the tools directly related to their studies and future careers, such as the Laser Cutter and CNC machines.
Accompanied by their lecturers Maria Pallikarou, Efi Katsi, and Panagiotis Voulgaris, the students observed live demonstrations of how the equipment works. The staff of Youth Maker Space remains approachable and ready to assist every visitor who wishes to use the facilities.
This space was created specifically to support young people through technology, enabling them to develop prototypes and bring their business ideas to life. Makerspaces like this one represent the democratization of design, engineering, fabrication, and education. Young people can learn about technology, craftsmanship, and other creative construction methods, share their knowledge and skills, and put those abilities into practice. The spectrum of creativity it supports is enormous!
